Soo Locks Saw

The Soo Locks has given this century-old saw to MAHS. This saw was in use as recently as the 2007-8 winter.

 

This saw has a 5-foot blade and can handle timbers 24 feet long.

 

It cut all of the oak timbers that line the locks.

 

The saw has been delivered to the historic site with the use of two low-boys and a dump truck. A team of volunteers will construct a building to house the saw in the summer of 2009. In 2010 the saw will be operated for the first time in its new home.

Summer Celebration will be August 7, 2010. Plan to come. Concessions, kids games, nature walk, and visit historic structures throughout the day.

 

Admission $3, carload $10, food extra


BASEBALL

 

2009

2009 was a mixed seaon for the Mackinaw Boys. They suffered their first loss to the Ludington Mariners. They also lost to the newly formed Petoskey Mossbacks. But every game was a fun time.
